Hassel H. Rowland

Former resident of Leeds

VANDIVER — Hassell Hunt Rowland, 91, passed away February 16, 2010.

A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 1100 West Bower, Harrison, Ark. at 10:30 a.m. on February 20.

For many years, she lived in Clarksville, Arkansas where she and her husband, Roger operated the Western Auto. She then moved to Leeds in 1988 and lived with her daughter of four years before transferring to nursing home care at St. Andrew’s Place. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway, Ark. She was a talented poet and artist and spent many hours writing her family history. Though a quiet and unassuring person, she charmed everyone she met with her sweet smile and loving disposition.

Survivors are her daughters, Patsy Desaulniers (Tom) and Elizabeth Anderson (David); granddaughter, Mary Margaret Anderson, who had a special place as the only grandchild.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Boone County Heritage Museum, P.O. Box 1094, Harrison, AR 72601, or any charity of our choice.

Roller-Christason Funeral Home, Arkansas directed.
