Accident claims life of Moody resident
A two-vehicle accident in Moody on Wednesday evening at approximately 5:10 p.m. claimed the life of a Moody resident.
Mandy Sisson Cole, 34, was traveling down Church Street and turned onto Highway 411 north towards Odenville when the vehicle she was driving was struck broadside by a pick-up truck, according to St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell. Russell added that Cole was pronounced dead at the scene due to head trauma.
Cole's two children were also in the vehicle. Russell said one child was flown by helicopter to Children's Hospital and other was transported by ambulance. Both children sustained non-life threatening injuries. He added that as of 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday both children were doing fine. One child did suffer from a cracked collar bone. Russell said a helicopter was used in order to take all precautions necessary in the sense that they were dealing with children.
Moody residents have been shaken by the event in light of the holidays and have said that Cole was an excellent daughter, sister and mother who will be greatly missed.
