Lady Green Wave Fall to Homewood, Pick Up First Win of the Year Against Tarrant

The 6A Lady Patriots of Homewood were too much for the Lady Green Wave as they shocked Leeds with a 62-24 win.

The Lady Patriots pressured the Lady Green Wave from the moment the got off the bus and Homewood led by ten points, 17-7, after one quarter.

A 10-2 run by the Patriots opened up an 18-point lead for Homewood with four minutes left in the half. Homewood held the Lady Green Wave to only seven points in the second quarter while scoring 21 points to lead by twenty four, 38-4, at halftime.

Homewood pushed the lead to 58-20 and kept on adding to their lead throughout the second half.



Leeds vs Tarrant



Breanna Glenn’s eight-second half points help lead the Lady Green Wave to their first win of the season, bringing their area record to 1-1 with a 43-22 win over Tarrant.

It was the Lady Green Wave’s second game of the season, and showed much improvement from the first game. Leeds led 23-10 at halftime. Glenn started the second half off with one of her two three point baskets. The lady Green Wave scored the first six points of the third to increase their lead to 29-10. Tarrant finally scored at the two-minute mark of the third. Leeds led 32-14 after three quarters.

The Lady Cats kept up with the Lady Green Wave throughout the fourth but Leeds was too much and the Green Wave took care of business 43 -22. Chatori Major led all scores with 23 points. Breanna Glenn had eight points, all in the second half and Tomikate O’Neal finished with seven points.
