The National Weather Service reported that there is a potential for an early season snow scheduled for overnight and the early morning hours of Saturday, December 5.
NWS said snowfall is expected to enter the southwestern counties around midnight and then quickly spread northeastward with much of central Alabama seeing light snow between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning. It is expected to be a very quick moving system with some clearing developing from east to west Saturday afternoon.
Temperatures will average in the middle 20s and possibly colder in some spots, but will rise into the 40s Saturday afternoon.
