Moody subdivision enters second phase
At a time when builders across the nation just are not building, a subdivision in Moody known as Creel’s Crossing is about to enter its second phase.
The exclusive community, located off James Taylor Road in Moody with homes starting in the upper $220’s, is now welcoming some of the area’s builders as they open up 30 more lots.
Creel’s Crossing, which opened in 2006 with approximately 45 lots in its first phase of development, recently brought Mike Mitchell, James Armstrong, Jim Carr and Jamie Blair on board as its newest Builder’s Group.
An architectural review committee leaning heavily on traditional designed homes controls the popular subdivision. Close to 50% of the homes are being pre-sold allowing for the homeowners to bring a lot of individual preference to the community.
The marketing of Creel’s Crossing is in the hands of Musgrove Abbott Realty, Inc., a sales team that is knowledgeable in assisting home buyers in choosing their plans and an ideal lot to build their new home. The team includes Amanda Drake, Jennifer Brown, John Abbott and Mark Musgrove who admit they want to make building a new home in the subdivision easy and have the experience needed to contract a home that fits the buyer’s needs. They plan on working with homebuyers and builders in every detail from beginning to completion. Home prices in Creels Crossing start in the upper $220’s and with homeowner pre-sales, the upper-end home sales are just under $300,000. The subdivision offers a variation of lots that accommodate single level homes with main level garage, full basement and split foyer homes.
Musgrove Abbott has had a very positive financial relationship with Covenant Bank for more than 10 years and throughout the development of the first phase of Creel’s Crossing. Covenant Bank said they have worked closely with the homebuilders in financing their construction loans and that they will continue to be a trusted financial friend as they develop phase two.
Moody Mayor Joe Lee said that having a local developer like Musgrove Abbott means a lot for the city. “They know the needs of the area,” he said. “To see R1 development back on line is big.”
He believes the group is building a good subdivision, adding that by pre-selling homes, Creel’s Crossing is inviting well-established families to the area. Their children will be part Moody schools and they will become part of a growing community.
Lee admitted that everything has been slow the past couple of years and although the city has recently seen an increase, mostly in RG (garden homes), he believes that this development is telling him the economy may be turning in the right direction.
