LEEDS —
Joshua Everett, a rising senior at Leeds High School has been selected as one of 40 rising seniors in the country to attend Notre Dame this summer for the Seminar for African American Scholars.
This seminar is an opportunity for talented, enthusiastic, and open-minded students to be enriched through spirituality and intellectual curiosity. The seminar provides an opportunity for students to explore the rich historical, political and spiritual legacy of African American culture and delve into a variety of issues from Catholic Social Teaching, to the Challenges of Science; from Notre Dame in the Local Community to Notre Dame in Africa.
The Seminar for African American Scholars provides a complete Notre Dame experience. It is an all-expense paid seminar and selection is extremely competitive. Preference is given to those students with a Catholic background, making Everett’s selection even more impressive.
After high school graduation, Everett plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he plans to major in mathematical decision science. He hopes to pursue a career as an actuary.
